A Former music teacher, now spends her time writing music and performing -- not a bad gig!! She is co-founder, composer, and music director of the popular StoryBook Theater, which produces original musicals for 3 to 9 year-olds and their families. Based in Kirkland, Washington, the professional company, now entering its 5th season, delights over 40,000 people a year. In addition to her work with StoryBook Theater, Susan continues to compose sacred songs which are sung throughout the area.
Susan's new CD, "Amazed, Songs for the Soul" is a collection of 13 of her sacred songs. All songs feature strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Three are settings of texts taken from "Gates of Prayer, The New Union Prayerbook, Central Conference of American Rabbis," including her popular "Meditation on Prayer" and "Days Pass." Featured singing on the CD are friends Garnett Hundley, Stefan Mitchell, Faith Russell, and Susan's little sister Katy Bardsley. The accompaniment features John Silverman on upright bass, Bev Daugherty on guitar and Susan on piano.
