| Stefan Mitchell- is a frequent soloist at the Center for Spiritual Living in Seattle, Bellevue Unity, as well as other locations around the greater Seattle area. He is also an actor/singer with many roles to his credit in local theatres such as the 5th Avenue and Civic Light Opera. Currently at work on his own CD of spiritual music with Seattle musician/composer David Maddux, we hope to be hearing much more from him soon! We'll keep you posted. Please visit him at www.stefanmitchell.com . | |||||||||||
| Katy Bardsley- Sue's "wonderful" sister Katy loves to sing. Katy's dream is to one day be a famous singer. On top of working fulltime, taking night classes and playing the piano every Sunday at a local United Methodist Church, she also squeezes in acting for the local community theater groups in her area. | |||||||||||
| Faith Russell- has been singing since she was six, starting in church and she continues to shine with grace and passion on many musical theatre stages in the Seattle area. She has been acting professionally for the last 7 years while simultaneously mothering her three beautiful children -- no minor accomplishment! (How does she find the time in the day?) | |||||||||||
| Garnett Hundley- the daughter of an Army Chaplain, began singing as a joyful way to endure too many church services and has never stopped. Garnett performs regularly in the Northwest in many of the Unity Churches and at the Center for Spiritual Living in Seattle, WA. She joyfully shares her music in concerts and benefits whenever possible. She has recorded a CD with two other fantastic singers, Jennifer Bundy and Susan Talbot, "In Spirit" and performs with them under the name of Sorella. She has recorded recently on the "Choir ofLight" CD for the Center for Spiritual Living and on Susan Bardsley's recording. (www.peaceintheheartrecords.com) | |||||||||||
| Bob Meador and Willo Bellwood- are graphic designers who specialize in web design for nonprofit organizations, but also enjoy working with musicians and artists- whom, one might argue, often also tend to be (unfortunately) "nonprofit organizations". Their specialization is so new that they don't even have a website for themselves yet, but you can email bob@blackitty.net if this is something that interests you. | |||||||||||
| John Silverman- began playing music professionally at the age of eleven. His teen age years found him working in every kind of situation, from recording and television to jazz and theater productions and studying music both in school and privately. He received a merit scholarship to the Cornish College of the Arts where he came to the attention of jazz musicians such as Julian Priester and Jerry Granelli, who invited him to study and eventually play with them. He attended the Banff Jazz Workshop and studied with Dave Holland, Smitty Smith, Kenny Wheeler, and was a private student of Gary Peacock. After receiving his BFA with honors, Silverman traveled to Houston Texas where he was principal bassist in a world premier of a Stuart Wallace opera for the Houston Grand Opera, then to Boston to perform and record with group Human Feel.
After moving to Paris in 1990, Silverman was asked to perform with Sun Ra's Arkestra. That recording was recently released on Lion Records. He has performed internationally in Brazil, Europe, North Africa, Japan and the Middle East. Silverman has recorded, toured and performed at the major European jazz festivals with musicians such as Lee Konitz, Johnny Griffin, and Archie Shepp. His project, Toy Sun, is a Paris-based collective of instrumentalists and producers that is exploring the possibilities of electronics and improvisation. Toy Sun's first release on Comet records was a 12" vinyl that received rave reviews and sold well internationally. Silverman returned to Seattle in 2001 where he has expanded the role of Toy Sun to include multimedia creation. His motion visual work has been featured at EMP and with DJ Spooky. His sound design and compositions can be found on many websites, from corporate to independent film. |
